Statement on privacy and cookies on DCI Worldwide

Privacy laws – the “cookie law”

As described below in the official statement that Google Analytics users must post on their website, this website uses Google Analytics. This program provides important statistics about numbers of visitors, pages visited, traffic sources and other vital information that allow us to continuously improve this website for users. These statistics are anonymous and cannot be traced to any particular person or user. So-called “behavioral targeting” that builds a profile based on your click behavior is not used. Your browsing behavior remains completely anonymous.

Google Analytics uses a cookie, which is a small file stored on your computer. Under the new privacy legislation (January 2015), Google Analytics falls under the exceptions and Analytics cookies may be placed without the user’s prior consent, provided Analytics is set up correctly and the duty to inform website visitors is met. We do that on this page.

Privacy settings of Google Analytics

According to Telecom legislation passed in January 2015, Google Analytics falls under the exceptions because this cookie has “no or only minor” invasion of privacy. In addition, the Google Analytics cookie is a “first party cookie,” meaning the cookie on your computer has “DCI Worldwide.co.uk” in the file name and the data is officially owned by DCI Worldwide and not Google. This cookie is not used for advertising or other commercial purposes.

In addition to the Telecom Act, the Personal Data Protection Act also applies. The use of Google Analytics is also permitted within this law, provided it is set up properly. These include four key conditions. (1) There is a processor agreement between Hayona (the owner of DCI Worldwide) and Google regarding Analytics data. (2) IP addresses are anonymized so that data can never be traced back to you or your IP address. (3) DCI Worldwide’s Analytics account is set up so that information may not be shared with others. (4) The visitor is clearly informed about the use of Analytics and the possibility of opting out.

DCI Worldwide thus meets all legal requirements. The Analytics cookie remains valid for 6 months.

No other cookies

No other cookies besides the Analytics cookie are used on DCI Worldwide.

Opt-out for Google Analytics

If you prefer to block Analytics’ script altogether, you can download an opt-out plugin for Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. With this plugin, your visit no longer counts in the statistics of all websites using Google Analytics.
